چکیده
The novel technique of mean range bunching has been developed and applied at the projectile fragment separator FRS GSI in four experiments FAIR phase-0 experimental program. Using a variable degrader system final focal plane FRS, ranges different nuclides can be aligned, allowing to efficiently implant large number simultaneously gas-filled stopping cell or an implantation detector. Stopping studying cocktail beam overcomes present limitations stopped-beam experiments. conceptual idea is described illustrated using simulations. In single setting 37 were stopped cryogenic measured broadband mass measurement with multiple-reflection time-of-flight spectrometer Ion Catcher.

متن کاملFirst experiment on fission transients in highly fissile spherical nuclei produced by fragmentation of radioactive beams.
We report on a novel experimental approach for studying the dissipative spreading of collective motion in a metastable nuclear system, using, for the first time, highly fissile nuclei with spherical shape. This was achieved by fragmentation of 45 radioactive heavy-ion beams at GSI, Darmstadt. The use of inverse kinematics and a dedicated experimental setup allowed for the identification in atom...
متن کاملExperiment on Fission Transients in Highly Fissile Spherical Nuclei produced by Fragmentation of Radioactive Beams
While transferring energy between the collective and intrinsic degrees of freedom of the system, viscosity intricately influences nuclear dynamics. Fission of highly excited spherical nuclei provides optimal conditions for probing this dissipation phenomenon. In nuclei, when the system is initially well-localized around its spherical ground-state minimum, any shape evolution is exclusively init...
متن کاملMean Field Studies of Exotic Nuclei
Full three dimensional static and dynamic mean field calculations using collocation basis splines with a Skyrme type Hamiltonian are described. This program is developed to address the difficult theoretical challenges offered by exotic nuclei. Ground state and deformation properties are calculated using static HartreeFock, Hartree-Fock+BCS and constrained Hartree-Fock models. Collective propert...
